"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." -- Romans 1:16

When God Seems Deaf To You

Your prayer may be for revival, for souls to be saved, or for any important matter, but God who is unlimited can become limited by your life. He will become as One who is deaf…

When you manifest indifference to the Word of God. Proverbs 28:9 – “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.”

When you have wrong relationships with your loved one. 1 Peter 3:7 – “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”

When you have unconfessed sin in your life. Isaiah 59:1-3 – “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.” See Psalm 66:18 also.

When you are not willing to be reconciled to another. Matthew 18:15 – “Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.”

When you are jealous and critical. Ephesians 4:30-32 – “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

When you know to do good and do it not. James 4:17 – “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

When you do not forgive another. Mark 11:25 – “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

When you are not willing to right a wrong. Matthew 5:23-24 – “Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
